Yet another eDoctor workshop on Dengue prevention

"It is time for knowledge to be converted to action and action to be converted to Goals..." was an echoing take home message given by Dr. Malinda De Silva, public speaker of www.edoctor.lk team, while addressing a gathering of upper-school; students of Royal Institute, Nugegoda with an emphasis on "Dengue Prevention". Destroying of mosquito breeding grounds, prevention of mosquito bites and eradicating all stages of life cycle of the dengue-mosquito, are foremost strategies in prevention.

Despite a SMALL BITE which brings about BIG THREAT, Dengue has always been a disease that public needs regular updates.Therefore must know facts on it's early management was dealt in depth. Mr. Hasantha Arambapola, Principal of Royal Institute, Nugegoda, Mr. Ananda Baranage, vice principal were among the attentive audience.

With the progression of  dengue epidemic, day by day, there's only few of us who stop to think and act upon what we as individuals can do to prevent these from happening, even what small a scale action is needed. It is time that we all realize that it is our own children, siblings and parents who fall victim to this deadly epidemic which most of the time we only have nurtured in our own backyard or the household through our own negligence.It is time we all unite with one target and act in unison to save our country from this epidemic.

"The school health education program on dengue conducted by eDoctor team,which focuses on improving the knowledge and attitudes of school children toward prevention of dengue through vigilance and prompt action is the main priority" said Dr. Harsha Jayakody, founder of www.edoctor.lk.
