Dengue has become a rising epidemic in Sri Lanka. We all have a responsibility on Saving the Nation from the Dengue Epidemic.
Giving priority to the health risks the Sri Lankan community face, www.edoctor.lk team was engaged in educating the younger generation of our country, at an event organized by the Environment club of Anula Vidyalaya, Nugegoda, on 20th June 2014.
Dr. Malinda De Silva delivered the speech to the schoolgirls of Anula Vidyalaya. It was mainly focused on educating the students about the dangers of Dengue, how it is spread, initial measures to take when you are suspected to have dengue and prevention methods.Vigilance can prevent dengue, Preparedness can beat it! This ideal slogan came up this timely event.
The students were integrated into an open and friendly discussion, which was different to the usual class room lecture.There were many questions and answers which came up from the audience during the speech, which made it a more practical & an interactive discussion. The support given by the principle and the teachers of Anula Vidyalaya should also be acknowledged.
www.edoctor.lk plans to organize many other similar educational programs targeting the students/professionals in Sri Lanka, in view of making life more healthier and better keeping up to its motto "Healthy life for a better tomorrow".
